Quebec Provincial Government is investing $330 M into a garage for a new system in Montreal

As the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) develops and builds the Réseau Electrique métropolitain (REM) automotive electric train system, the provincial government has dedicated $330 M to store the future trains. The provincial government already intends to spend $1.3 billion for Montreal's new trains in 2017 and intends to complete work by 2020. This latest feature of the project demonstrates a commitment by the provincial government to see the new system will have a strategically placed station to serve the city’s transit needs.
